A father is livid after his son was injured by a motorist who failed to stop.

A Wake County dad is on a crusade after his 17-year-old son was hit by a driver near the Brier Creek Shopping Center.

"Society does not need people like that driving around with a license not caring about life," said Edgar Rodriquez. "The driver, he can't just be driving around free, acting like nothing happened. Somebody else is going to be a victim, someone else is going to get hurt or die."

Jonathan Rodriquez, a junior at Leesville High School, was hurt Saturday afternoon while walking the family dog.

The teen has spent days receiving care at Duke University Hospital and was released Monday afternoon.

Dad tells ABC11 that Jonathan has a minor skull fracture, has trouble walking on his own, and is on seizure medication.

"I want to wrap him in bubble wrap he's so sensitive," said Edgar. "Doctors say anything that can happen to his head can be an issue. It can get a whole lot worse." The teen told his dad the car that hit him has a silver bumper.

Police are working on a better vehicle description. Anyone with information about the hit-and-run accident is urged to reach out to the Raleigh Police Department.
