DURHAM COUNTY (WTVD) -- A search is currently underway for the suspects who led authorities from multiple departments on a chase through Durham County early Monday morning.

Durham police confirms to ABC11 that they are looking for the suspects in a neighborhood on Orchard Way, off Dearborn Drive.

The incident started around 1:40 a.m. when authorities got a call about a breaking and entering happening in the 100 block of Newberry Lane.

Then, according to Durham Police, officers saw what appeared to be a white SUV take off from the scene.

They sent out a description to Durham County deputies, who chased what was actually a white minivan with Florida license plates.

A chase ensued along Highway 70 and ended when the minivan hit some stop sticks at Dearborn Drive and Orchard Way. At one point, they traveled at about 100 mph, according to authorities.

The driver jumped out of the minivan and ran. Authorities are still searching for him.

Officials did say they found a ski mask inside the van.

They're also investigating a crash that happened during the chase, in the 3800 block of Duke Street at Horton Road.

The driver of an SUV was apparently trying to get out of the way of the chase, when they backed into a deputy's cruiser.

The deputy has minor injuries, but is expected to recover, authorities said.
