FRESNO, California (WTVD) -- A good Samaritan seen in surveillance video stopping the armed robbery of a Starbucks in California may now face legal trouble.

Police say video of the incident they first released in July shows Ryan Flores walking into the Fresno business with a knife and a toy gun demanding money from a barista. That is when Cregg Jerri saw what was happening and hit Flores in the back with a metal chair. The two then began fighting on the ground where Jerri was stabbed in the neck.

During the fight, Jerri managed to wrestle the knife away and stab Flores several times before he ran away.

Officers later found Flores near a canal on Fruit and Ashlan where he admitted to the crime and was treated for his injuries before being taken into custody.

Now, YourCentralValley.com reports Flores - who is still in jail - plans to sue Jerri for using excessive force.

His mother said the family does not condone what he allegedly did, but she said he should not have been attacked back the way he was and called Jerri a vigilante.
