RALEIGH (WTVD) -- The state ABC Commission has suspended the alcohol permits at Club Bodi in Raleigh.

It comes less than a week after shots were fired in the club and a man running from the club was shot to death about a block away.

Club Bodi has held its permit since august 2011, but the club has seen a lot of problems, a lot of police calls to the club including another fatal shooting last summer.

The state says it will not tolerate deadly violence at locations that hold permits to sell alcohol.

The club responded on Facebook Friday evening saying its alcohol permits have been "temporarily suspended," and that the club will be back in "full swing" the week of June 16.

The City of Raleigh is also investigating Club Bodi.

The city council voted Tuesday to authorize City Attorney Thomas McCormick's office to look into the operation and history of the club, which is on South West Street in downtown Raleigh.

The city has also authorized McCormick to file any appropriate legal action.
