RALEIGH (WTVD) -- A Charlotte-bound Amtrak slammed into a car in Raleigh Thursday.

It happened just after 6:30 p.m. near Nowell Road off Hillsborough Street.

Amtrak says the driver in the car jumped out of the way before the Carolinian train hit it.

The train was delayed for about an hour, but thankfully no one on the train was hurt.

No word yet on the condition of the driver or if any charges will be filed.
