LUMBERTON, N.C. (WTVD) -- The autopsies are complete for a Cumberland County minister and his wife found dead in their home earlier this week, authorities confirm.

Reverend William Scott, 68, and his wife Charlotte Scott, 64, were found on the patio of their Old Whiteville Road home in Lumberton on Wednesday. Robeson County Sheriff Kenneth Sealey said the discovery was made by the couple's granddaughter around 2:30 p.m.

On Friday morning, Sealey said the couple did not die of natural causes, but an autopsy had just been completed.

Police were expected to announce more details on Saturday.

The Scotts were members of East Lumberton Baptist Church, where William (Bill) Scott was a treasurer. He also pastored Charity Baptist Church near the Gray's Creek area of Cumberland County.

East Lumberton Baptist Church announced information regarding funeral arrangements for the couple on Thursday evening via their Facebook Page. They also used the page to post their shock surrounding the couple's death, writing, "We have had a tragedy occur within our church family today. Two of our dearest saints, Rev. Bill & Charlotte Scott, have gone to be with the Lord. The details of the situation are still unknown so just be in prayer for the family during this time."
