Distinctive gun used in Fayetteville robberies

FAYETTEVILLE, NC (WTVD) -- Police are asking for help identifying the man behind four Fayetteville armed robberies in which a distinctive antique-style gun was used.

All the holdups happened at businesses along the Raeford Road and Hope Mills Road corridors.

In each case, the man clothed in a black or gray hooded sweatshirt, camouflage pants, a ski mask, and a pink Hello Kitty backpack enters the business and demands money from the clerk.

The following businesses have been robbed:

  • Short Stop located at 1015 Hope Mills Road on 10/24/14 at 8:39 a.m.
  • Short Stop located at 1015 Hope Mills Road on 10/26/14 at 9:24 p.m.
  • O'Reilly's Auto Parts located at 5401 Raeford Road on 10/27/14 at 9:52 p.m.
  • Kangaroo located at 5201 Raeford Road on 10/29/14 at 1:33 a.m.
