Driver shot before crashing car in Durham

DURHAM, North Carolina (WTVD) -- Police say a shooting caused a bad crash in Durham Thursday night.

It happened just before 10:45 p.m. on Junction Road.

Authorities said multiple shots were heard in the Bentwood Park Apartments, and a white SUV was seen attempting to leave the scene, but ended up crashing at the front entrance of the complex.

According to officials, a handgun was found inside the crashed SUV.

The driver was taken to the hospital in unknown condition.
