ABC11 has learned that inspectors from both the state and Duke Energy have been out to the property, located on Kemp Road near Victory Church Road.

Duke's forester, with the company's Department of Asset Protection, inspected the property after concerns workers were operating machinery too close to power lines. We're told he shut down operations at the farm before advising on OSHA regulations (there's a 20 foot easement around powerlines) and allowing work to continue.

A spokesperson for the Department of Environmental Quality tells ABC11 inspectors from two divisions have also been to the property to check for any potential issues related to sedimentation, erosion control, and pollution. DEQ's Division of Water Resources is preparing a Notice of Violation for the property.

ABC11 has not heard back from the attorney for the family that owns the property.
