Nine people were displaced after a fire in Harnett County

DUNN, N.C. (WTVD) -- A fire that ripped through the top floor of an apartment building has displaced nine residents, officials confirm.

Heavy flames and smoke were reported inside the building just before 2 a.m. Wednesday. It's located at 607 W. Broad Street in Dunn.

The large home, converted into six apartment units, was destroyed on the second floor.

Investigators who combed the top floor late Wednesday morning have not determined a cause. No injuries were reported.

The victims are receiving assistance from the Red Cross.
