Kids injured after school bus collides head-on with pickup truck in Durham

DURHAM (WTVD) -- The Durham Police Department said Friday that a pickup truck crossed the center line and slammed head-on into a school bus.

The accident happened just after 8 a.m. on North Roxboro Road at East Ellerbee Street.

The driver of the truck and two children on the bus were taken to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries. Two other students on the bus were not hurt.

Bus 442 was headed to Merrick-Moore Elementary School when it happened.

Police say the truck's driver has been charged with having an expired registration and crossing the center line.
