Man charged in Fayetteville armed robbery

FAYETTEVILLE (WTVD) -- Police say they have found the man who allegedly held up a gas station Thursday evening.

It happened at the Wilco Hess in the 400 block of Grove Street just after 7:15 p.m.

Police said 47-year-old Bryant Keith Gerald entered the business armed with a handgun and demanded money from the clerk. He got away with an undetermined amount of money from the business and fled on foot towards B. Street.

After a surveillance video of Gerald was sent out to the media, he turned himself in.

He's now charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon and second-degree kidnapping.

Bail was set at $30,000.
