Raleigh police are searching for the gunman who shot a man several times during a home invasion on Green Road

RALEIGH (WTVD) -- Authorities said a man was shot in his apartment during an apparent home invasion in Raleigh on Saturday.

It happened shortly before 10 a.m. in the 4400 block of Green Road. Initially, police were told the shooting happened near Capital Boulevard and Calvary Drive. However, follow-up investigation revealed the assault happened in the victim's apartment.

The victim, 27-year-old Jonathan Edward Clay, was shot multiple times. Acquaintances took Clay to Duke Hospital Raleigh. He was transported to WakeMed where he is being treated for non-life threatening injuries.
