Man killed by train in Durham identified

DURHAM (WTVD) -- A man walking along railroad tracks in Durham Tuesday was hit and killed by an Amtrak train.

It happened around 12:15 p.m. between Roxboro and Dillard Street.

An Amtrak spokesperson said Train 75 was travelling westbound from Cary and was heading into the Durham station when it hit the man who was crossing the tracks.

Tuesday night, police identified the man killed as 30-year-old Cenntell Tremane Thomas, of Durham.

There were 30 people on the train when Thomas was struck. No one on board was injured.
