Man killed in crash near Benson

BENSON, N.C. (WTVD) -- Investigators say a 70-year-old man is dead after his car overturned near Benson Wednesday night.

It happened on Marler Road near Meadowbrook road just before midnight.

The North Carolina Highway Patrol said James Albert McAllister of Benson apparently ran off the side of the road, overcorrected, and then lost control.

Troopers said McAllister was not wearing a seatbelt.
