Man shot accidentally at Wake Forest gas station

WAKE FOREST, N.C. (WTVD) -- One person was taken to the hospital after being shot in the arm Saturday afternoon at a gas station in Wake Forest.

Officials said the shooting at the Shell station at 942 Durham Road was accidental.

The victim was teaching his friend, Moqbel Abdullah Ahmed how to clean a handgun, officials said. While putting the gun together, the weapon discharged, striking the victim in the arm.

The victim's injuries are not life-threatening, officials said.

Ahmed has been issued a citation for discharging a firearm in town limits.
