Man shot, killed at Fayetteville motel

FAYETTEVILLE (WTVD) -- Authorities are investigating an early morning shooting at the Carolina Motor Inn in Fayetteville that killed a Cumberland County man.

It happened around 4 a.m. Sunday in the 2500 block of Gillespie Street.

The victim, who was later identified as 27-year-old Kelvin Deon Jones, was transported to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. Authorities said Jones was homeless.
