FAYETTEVILLE (WTVD) -- Police have charged two men with shooting and killing a cyclist from New York in Fayetteville last Thursday night.

Thirty-two-year-old Mark Boyd II of Islip, New York, was found lying on Richard Street with several gunshot wounds just before midnight.

Police allege 32-year-old Carlos Jacob Engle and 19-year-old Deshavonte Kemp lured Boyd into a car on the pretense of helping him find a hotel room.

Police said they think the men robbed Boyd and then shot him several times.

Investigators said Boyd's bicycle, his saddle bag, a map, camping fuel, and personal items were stolen.

Engle and Kemp are charged with first-degree murder, first-degree kidnapping, and robbery with a dangerous weapon.
