A man in a pickup truck suffered a medical emergency

TROOPER TO THE RESCUE

An Iowa state trooper had his dash cam recording when a 15-year-old riding in his father's pickup reached over and jammed his foot on the brake to stop the vehicle right in front of him.

It turns out the older man was having a heart attack.

The trooper leapt into action, getting the teen to open the door.

The officer and a nurse who rushed over to help started CPR before an ambulance arrived.

The man survived and is recovering.

BEACH RESCUE

A woman who was swept off a beach in Marin County, California spent a half hour in the 52-degree Pacific Ocean before she was able to swim to the base of a cliff.

She was then lifted up to a rescue helicopter and is in good shape despite the experience.

ROBBER LOCKED IN

A gunman in Oklahoma City burst into a convenience store to rob the place, but then found himself trapped when the clerk used a remote switch to lock the door.

Video shows the man tugging violently at the door with no luck.

The robber came back and threatened the clerk, who had to then let him go.

GOOD SHIP PADDLING POOL

When heavy rain triggered flash flooding in Manhattan, Kansas, a resident turned a paddling pool into a boat and floated down the street.

The National Weather Service reported more than 3 inches of rain fell in a 4-hour period.
