FOUR OAKS, N.C. (WTVD) -- A person was killed Monday afternoon when a vehicle went off the road along southbound I-95.

It happened at Mile Marker 84 near Four Oaks.

The North Carolina Highway Patrol says 60-year-old James Blackwood, of St. Pauls, was killed when his car ran off the road, hit some trees, and burst into flames.

The Highway Patrol is working with the medical examiner to see if a medical problem may have played a role.
