Police: Fayetteville man sexually assaulted elderly woman
FAYETTEVILLE (WTVD) -- Fayetteville police are investigating an alleged burglary and sexual assault Sunday. [br /][br /]Police said it happened around 5:15 a.m. on the 6000 block of Yadkin Road. [br /][br /]According to Fayetteville Police Department, the victim is an elderly woman. The suspect robbed the home and then sexually assaulted the woman. [br /][br /]The woman was taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center and is said to be in good condition. [br /][br /]The suspect fled the home before police arrived. [br /][br /]Detectives with the Special Victims Unit of the Fayetteville Police Department are actively investigating the sexual assault and additional information will be released as it becomes available.
