Hit and run in Cary 'not random'
Police said a hit and run that killed a Cary teen was 'not random'

CARY, NC (WTVD) -- The Cary police department says a hit-and-run accident that left a Green Hope High School student dead "was not a random act."

The hit-and-run happened around 9:30 p.m. on Lawrence Road near Walnut Street.

The victim has been identified as 16-year-old Katherine Burdick-Crow.

In a 911 call released Saturday night, a witness who came up on the scene said the teen may have fallen off or out of a car.

"Apparently, she was on a car and fell off and a gentleman is here with blood all over his face. He is acting very strange. He said not to call the police but I am calling you cause this girl, I don't feel a pulse or anything, so someone needs to get here very quickly," reports the caller.

Investigators said they are actively working on leads in the case.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Cary Police Department at (919) 469-4012.
