Police investigate fatal crash in Raleigh

RALEIGH (WTVD) -- Authorities are investigating a single-vehicle accident that left one person dead.

Just after 9:15 a.m. Sunday, police were dispatched to the 700 block of Sunnybrook Road.

Upon arrival, officers found Nigel Juan Cruz Jr. dead inside his 2011 Toyota sedan.

Investigators say Cruz steered off the road and collided with a tree, killing him. The 25-year-old was the only occupant in the vehicle.

Sunnybrook Road was closed temporarily to facilitate the initial investigation of the wreck.
