Goldsboro Police Department investigating fatal shooting

GOLDSBORO, N.C. (WTVD) -- The Goldsboro Police Department is investigating a fatal shooting.

The incident started around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday, when police got a call about shots being fired in the 100 block of Ervin Drive.

When officers arrived, they found a man lying in the ditch and suffering from a gunshot wound.

Wayne County EMS tried to revive him, but he died at the scene.

The victim was later identified as 42-year-old Doral Deangelo Best of 101-B Ervin Drive.

Further details surrounding the incident have not been released.

Police are still investigating the incident.
