Pedestrian struck in Fuquay-Varina, police search for culprit

FUQUAY-VARINA, N.C. (WTVD) -- Authorities are searching for the driver who hit a pedestrian and fled the scene Wednesday night in Fuquay-Varina.

It happened near the intersection of Broad Street and Highway 55 at Judd Parkway around 11 p.m. A 26-year-old man was walking near the intersection when he was hit by a car.

The victim was taken to WakeMed in Apex with non-life threatening injuries, officials said. The victim's name has not been released.

The suspect fled the scene in what may have been a Jeep Wrangler.
