Police seeking suspect in attempted sexual assault
Authorities in Fayetteville are searching for a suspect in connection with an attempted sexual assault that happened Saturday.

FAYETTEVILLE (WTVD) -- Authorities in Fayetteville are searching for a suspect in connection with an attempted sexual assault.

On Saturday, a woman contacted detectives to report that a man broke in her home in the Beaver Run subdivision and tried to sexually assault her.

The victim was able to escape from the attacker and fled to a nearby neighbor's home.

The suspect was described as a bald African American man with muscular arms, who was about 5' 9" tall, and weighed between 160 to 190 pounds.

He was last seen wearing a grey sleeveless shirt and blue shorts at the time of the incident.

Detectives with the Special Victims Unit of the Fayetteville Police Department are currently investigating the incident. Further details have not been released at this time.
