Power restored at Crabtree Valley Mall in Raleigh

RALEIGH (WTVD) -- Last minute shoppers hit a bit of a snag at one local mall on Christmas Eve.

Officials said the power went out around 3 p.m. and returned just after 4 p.m. at Raleigh's Crabtree Valley Mall.

Many stores closed and customers left. The mall was scheduled to close at 6 p.m.

Duke Energy said more than 7,500 customers were affected at the height of the outage.

The outage was caused by damage to transmission lines.
