Suspect charged after missing man found dead in trunk of car
Police have charged a suspect in connection with the shooting death of a man found dead in a car's trunk Thursday.

FAYETTEVILLE (WTVD) -- Police have charged a suspect in connection with the shooting death of a man found dead in a car's trunk Thursday.

The victim was identified as 25-year-old Samuel Federick III. He was last seen leaving his home on Grand Prix Drive Tuesday morning in a gray 2012 Dodge Avenger.

Family members later found Federick shot to death in the trunk of a car around 8:25 p.m. Thursday. The discovery was made just two miles from Federick's home, in the area of Dodge Court and North Platte Road.

Police have now charged 36-year-old John Jacob Sierra with second-degree murder and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Sierra was processed at the Cumberland County Detention Center, where he remains without bond.
