Suspicious package investigated in Sanford shopping center

SANFORD, N.C. (WTVD) -- The bomb squad investigated a suspicious package found in a shopping center in the 2500 block of Lee Avenue in Sanford Wednesday afternoon.

It happened in front of a store in the Kendale Shopping Plaza.

Video from Chopper 11 HD showed on a black box on top of a newspaper rack.

The Fort Bragg Bomb Squad spent more than an hour examining the package before a soldier could be seen opening the case.

It is not known what was inside, but we do know it was harmless.
