Three people hurt in Winston-Salem apartment fire

WINSTON-SALEM (WTVD) -- Authorities say three people were hurt overnight in a possible arson at a Winston-Salem apartment complex.

It happened at the Plaza Apartments on Thurmond Street. When firefighters arrived, flames could be seen shooting from the building.

Three people were injured in the blaze as they attempted to evacuate the building.

A total of six apartments were damaged and several families have been displaced.

Authorities said based on an investigation, the fire appeared to be intentionally set.

They charged Teresa Evette Lineberger with 1st degree arson and malicious use of explosives to damage property.
