Teen shot in Durham

DURHAM (WTVD) -- Durham police are investigating a shooting that injured a 12-year-old boy Monday night.

It happened around 9:30 p.m. in the 200 block of North Blacknall Street, near Alston Avenue.

Authorities said the boy was walking down the street when shots were fired from a passing vehicle. The victim was struck in the hip and taken to the hospital for treatment. His injury did not appear to be life-threatening, according to officials.

Investigators also said the shooting did not appear to be random, and may have stemmed from an argument earlier in the day. No charges have been filed at this time.
