WAKE FOREST, N.C. (WTVD) -- A vigil to honor the lives of Wake County students killed this year was held Sunday evening at 6:30 p.m. at the Heritage High School football stadium.

A flyer image tweeted out advertising the event showed it was in honor of Keith Jones, Laura Yost, Isaiah Langston and Braden Rock. These four teens most likely had no connection to each other and were from different corners of Wake County, but their loss has left a lasting impact on an entire community.

All four teens were killed just days apart from each other in September. Keith Jones, 13, was killed while waiting for his school bus one morning just outside of Wendell. He was killed by a hit-and-run driver.

In Cary, 15-year-old Laura Yost died a week after the SUV she was riding in was hit by a dump truck. That happened not far from her school, Panther Creek High School, where students later held a vigil for her.

Then there was an accident on Capital Boulevard, not far from Heritage High School. Several cars were involved and several teenagers are still recovering, except one. Braden Rock, 15, was killed.

Tragedy also hit the football field when Rolesville High School lost 17-year-old Isaiah Langston. The football player collapsed before a Friday night football game. He later died at WakeMed. The only medical explanation for his sudden death was a blood clot.

While each student has had a vigil or a memorial to honor their young lives, organizers of Sunday night's vigil wanted to gather to honor them all at once in a continued effort toward healing.
