Woman accused of bilking company out of thousands

Wake County (WTVD) -- A Wake County woman is facing several charges after allegedly bilking a Raleigh pediatrics practice out of more than $700,000.

Authorities arrested 50-year-old Lori Pote of Cary Thursday on seven counts of embezzlement.

According to arrest warrants, the former office manager of is accused of taking money from Carolina Kids Pediatrics as far back as 2007, to this past December.

The embezzlement was discovered due to financial discrepancies.

Pote is being held at the Wake County Jail under a $2.7 million bond.
