Cumberland County charity robbed
The Big Fix, a local charity benefiting pets and pet owners, was broken into this week

CUMBERLAND COUNTY, N.C. (WTVD) -- Volunteers at The Big Fix are picking up after the organization was broken into on Monday.

The Big Fix serves as a food bank for pet owners in need and provides free pet food and free or reduced veterinary services for animals.

Pam Marinelli, a volunteer for the organization, said the thieves took items from their pantry, meats from their freezer, clothing for a fundraiser, and hundreds of dollars worth of pet food from their shed.

Marinelli said this is the fourth time the charity has been broken into, with the last break-in happening less than six months ago.

The organization is asking for donations to help make up for the loss.

Marinelli said The Big Fix is in need of cat and dog food and is hoping to obtain a more secure storage shed as well as security cameras.

Check out The Big Fix's Facebook page "Unchain Cumberland County" here.

Marinelli said to message them from the Facebook page if you'd like to help out or donate.
