Durham police investigate a hit and run.

DURHAM, North Carolina (WTVD) -- Police are looking for the person responsible for a hit and run that injured two people in Durham.

Officers say they responded to a call at the intersection of Fayetteville St. and East Umstead St. after two people were hit while crossing the street.

The suspect left the scene and now a search is underway for a burgundy Ford Taurus, according to authorities.

Officers said that both of the people injured suffered nonlife-threatening injuries.

No names have been released.
