Many retailers and local businesses offer discounts for homeschoolers
RALEIGH (WTVD) -- According to North Carolinians for Home Education, there are nearly 68,000 homeschoolers across the state. There are also many special discounts and deals for homeschoolers including a new swim program offered by The Orange County SportsPlex in Hillsborough.
The SportsPlex is offering swim lessons and beginning a swim team for homeschooled students at a discounted rate.
"We do offer it at our discounted member rate, which is a roughly 30 percent discount from our normal lessons," explained Aquatics Director, Matt Reedy.
Reedy said the program will kick off Saturday, August 29 from 12-2 p.m. with a free swim evaluation during the SportsPlex's active families day with free open swim and skating.
