Dairy Queen is teaming up with Duke Children's Hospital for Miracle Treat Day.
On Thursday, every Blizzard you buy from participating Dairy Queens earns the hospital one dollar to treat a child's fight against illness.
Learn more about Miracle Treat Day here.
Local Dairy Queen owner Andrew Valkanoff donated over 400 ice cream bars to kids, doctors, and nurses at Duke Children's Hospital to help commemorate the occasion.
Valkanoff, who owns three local Dairy Queens, says he's participated in Miracle Treat day for the last nine years. His stores have raised over $100,000 for the cause.
He said their goal this year is to raise $15,000. All three of his stores are offering face painting and special events to draw more donations.
