RALEIGH -- Players from a local college football team put their muscles to use and helped give back to the hometown that supports them.

St. Augustine's University men's football team spent their Saturday building a Habitat for Humanity home.

The house is going up in southeast Raleigh. The family receiving the home won't be the only fortunate ones, though. Head football coach Michael Morrand said the team benefits from the experience, too.

"It just shows how the University is out there in the community just helping out. For the football team, it's a lot of character building, unity building, team bonding," said Morrand. "But most importantly we want to give back to the community and that's what we're here for."
