Wake County first responders honored

RALEIGH (WTVD) -- The people who help us in accidents or medical emergencies got special recognition in Raleigh Friday.

The sixth annual First Responders Appreciation Breakfast was held at the North Ridge Country Club in Raleigh.

Since not all of the more than 2,000 first responders in Wake County could attend the event, many businesses are offering them discounts on meals and services throughout the day.

The breakfast was hosted by the Greater Raleigh Chamber of Commerce, Wells Fargo and ABC11 Together.

ABC11's Don Schwenneker was emcee.
