WAKE FOREST, N.C. (WTVD) -- With the weather being so hot for so many days, everyone's looking for ways to cool off and stay hydrated.
For the first time ever, a local police department is making sure people out in the heat get the water they need.
Wake Forest police have been passing out free water bottles to those they see outside in the extreme heat.
"We think it's just a great opportunity for our police officers to get out, interact with people, interact with members of the community, and provide a valuable service," said Bill Crabtree, Wake Forest's public information officer.
If you would like to help the officers, you can donate water bottles at the Wake Forest Police Department.
