RALEIGH, N.C. -- The Carolina Hurricanes have activated center Jordan Staal from injured reserve after he missed seven games with a concussion.

General manager Ron Francis announced the move Tuesday about seven hours before the Hurricanes host Vancouver. He says Staal will be eligible to skate against the Canucks.

The 28-year-old Staal has five goals and four assists in 21 games this season. He was hurt in a 3-2 victory against Florida on Nov. 27 and placed on IR the next day.
