NC State's Dennis Smith talks to ABC11 at Chris Paul's basketball camp.

When the game is taken away, appreciation for it grows. Dennis Smith Jr. missed his senior season of high school in Fayetteville recovering from a torn knee ligament. Nearly a year later, the NC State freshman says he's fully recovered.

Smith anchors what has grown into a good incoming class of Wolfpack recruits.

Enrolling early has given him a taste of what to expect in college. His goal is a simple one: "Winning a national championship."

In the way-too-early projections for next year's NBA Draft, Smith is a potential lottery pick. Going against professionals at Chris Paul's camp didn't hurt his rising stock.
