MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- A Memphis police officer leading North Carolina's bus through downtown Sunday morning crashed in a busy intersection as he tried to maneuver through traffic.

The Tar Heels, who were led by multiple officers, got off the bus after the incident to survey the scene as additional officers and medical personnel arrived.

North Carolina coach Roy Williams then walked across the street to check on the shaken officer, who did not suffer serious injuries, according to other officers on the scene.

The Tar Heels will face Kentucky at FedEx Forum on Sunday in the Elite Eight, with the winner earning a trip to the Final Four in Glendale, Arizona.
