UNC hires Zac Selmon as Associate A.D.

CHAPEL HILL, NC (WTVD) -- Zac Selmon, associate director of athletics development at the University of Oklahoma, is joining the University of North Carolina staff as Associate A.D. and Special Assistant to Director of Athletics Bubba Cunningham.

Selmon will be in charge of monitoring and tracking the athletic department's strategic plan, representing the director of athletics at meetings and on committees, assisting with internal communications, serving as liaison with external groups such as the ACC, NCAA and NACDA, and administering the department's executive and senior staff meetings.

Selmon will begin work at UNC on Monday.

Selmon has worked in the Sooners' athletic department for five years, including the last three years as associate director of athletics development.

Selmon played tight end and was a four-time member of the Dean's List while attending Wake Forest. He earned his master's in education with an emphasis in intercollegiate athletics administration from Oklahoma in 2010.

The Norman, Okla., native started four seasons for the Demon Deacons (2004-07) and was a member of the 2006 ACC champions that played in the Orange Bowl.
