Multi-vehicle crash shuts down I-40 westbound near RDU

WAKE COUNTY, N.C. (WTVD) -- A three-vehicle collision closed the westbound lanes of Interstate 40 westbound for several hours Friday night.

It happened around 8 p.m. near Aviation Parkway.

Troopers say 22-year-old Agenor Giron was going 10 miles per hour on the highway when a truck and then another car slammed into him.

No charges have been filed.

At last check, Giron is in critical condition at Duke Hospital.
