Driver killed in overnight crash on I-40

DURHAM (WTVD) -- Authorities are investigating an accident that killed a driver along Interstate 40 early Tuesday morning.

It happened around 2 a.m. on I-40 near Davis Drive in Durham.

The Highway Patrol said the driver of a white sedan was killed when the vehicle slammed into the median under the Davis Drive bridge.

No other cars were involved.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
