One person killed, one injured in wreck on New Hope Road in Raleigh

RALEIGH (WTVD) -- Raleigh police are investigating a fatal accident that killed one person and injured another early Monday morning.

It happened around 2 a.m. on North New Hope Road at Woodlawn Drive after a car slammed into a tree.

The driver, 21-year-old Denis Ricardo Mineros-Campos, was declared dead at the scene.

The passenger, 19-year-old Carlos Alberto Zelada-Rivera, was rushed to WakeMed with non-life threatening injuries.

New Hope Road was closed for several hours while authorities cleared the scene.
