Pedestrian struck, killed on South Saunders Street
Raleigh police say a pedestrian was killed on South Saunders Street near Carolina Pines Avenue Tuesday evening.

RALEIGH (WTVD) -- Raleigh police say a woman was killed walking on South Saunders Street near Carolina Pines Avenue Tuesday evening.

It happened around 9 p.m. in the northbound lanes.

Denise Michelle Holliday, 53, was staying at the Super 8 motel and was apparently trying to cross the road to get to a convenience store when she was struck.

Police said Holliday was not in a marked crosswalk and the traffic on the street had a green light.

No charges have been filed. The investigation continues.
