Unoccupied car, work truck collide on NC 55 in Durham

DURHAM (WTVD) -- Part of N.C. Highway 55 in Durham was shut down for two hours Thursday afternoon at Cornwallis Road because of a crash around 2:30 p.m.

Police say an unoccupied car parked in a convenience store parking lot somehow went out of gear and rolled down a hill onto Highway 55 where it crashed into a northbound work truck.

Two people in the truck were ejected, and suffered serious injuries.

The road reopened after 4:30 p.m.
