Police: break-in suspect turned himself in

DURHAM -- Durham police say a man wanted in connection with a series of break-ins has turned himself in.

Investigators say 18-year-old Traquan Adams turned himself in Saturday afternoon, and was taken to the Durham County Jail on a $250,000 bond.

Police believe he broke into four homes in southern Durham since Aug. 27.

Adams, of Beechwood Drive, has been charged with breaking into two homes on Spring Meadow Drive, one home on Cilantro Court and one home on Ainsley Court.

Three of the burglaries occurred in the evening or at night and one home was occupied when the burglary occurred.

Adams faces the following charges: one count of first-degree burglary, three counts of breaking and entering, three counts of larceny after breaking and entering, one count of attempted larceny, four counts of injury to real property and two counts of possession of stolen property.
